Hello all, wanted to just say hello and let you know how things are going. Next week is finals week at my school, which means we are three-fourths of the way done with the school year! It's hard to believe. I feel like I finally hit my stride this quarter, after a fairly discouraging second quarter. As a reminder, we live in Colorado now, in a town called Castle Rock, about a half-hour south of Denver. We like it here so far. I must say I don't miss those dreary and cold Ohio winter days. We have had an unusually warm winter here (it's sunny and 70 degrees today and I'm sitting here with the door open and the breeze blowing in).
I am helping coach girls' soccer (it's in the spring here). We have our first game tomorrow (super pumped). I've never coached girls before and was kinda nervous because everyone told me to expect a lot of drama. But it has been a lot of fun so far.
I really like the high school I'm at. It's only three years old and the teachers and admin are great. Everyone is really motivated to be there and enjoys teaching.
We had a bond fail last November, which really sucks, so there is a teencie chance I might loose my job. I'm staying positive and hoping for the best. If that happens, I might be on my way back to Ohio.
Hope to hear from some of you soon. Tell us all what you are doing. If you can't figure out how to post here, send me an email at jmneal11@aol.com

Hey Jared! (And everyone) I'm glad you wrote. I was actually just thinking about our blog the other day and wondering if people were still writing on it. I didn't remember how to get on it, so I'm glad you sent the email. It was nice to get an update too! As for me, I'm still subbing. It's going pretty well. I'm starting to get most of my jobs by teachers calling me personally. I've been getting a lot more art jobs too. My name is getting passed around in the Columbus City elementary art teacher community. I'm working on updating all my applications right now. I have an interview next week, not for a teaching job, but for a full time job with the City of Gahanna Parks and Recreation Department. I have worked for them the past few summers. I'm not sure where that's going or what will happen, but we'll see. I'm also still teaching gymnastics in the evenings. I was working every single day, Mon.-Sun., but we just started a new session and I have a couple days off, which I guess is nice. Okay, so maybe more information than you wanted to read...but I'd love to hear from everyone else too, and how things are going!
Kristin
